About Virtuoso

Virtuoso is a learning app for classical music, made by Nerdish OU — a small team building modern guides for curious minds. It helps you find your way around five hundred years of music, from medieval chant to Debussy, through short illustrated articles and listening quizzes.

We made it because classical music deserves a better intro than the one most people get — or don't get at all. School rarely teaches it. Streaming apps assume you already know what you like. Wikipedia tells you facts without a thread to connect them. Virtuoso is the thread.

So we built it the way the intro should have been. Short illustrated articles instead of textbooks. Audio inside the text, where it belongs. Quizzes that train your ear, not your memorization. One connected story instead of a hundred scattered facts. And the full course on the history of classical music — free, because the fundamentals shouldn't be behind a paywall.
